Chief Minister ML Khattar’s convoy ran over a pedestrian on the national
highway; the pedestrian lost his life in the accident that took place last
night somewhere near Karnal.
The convoy was going to Delhi
from Chandigarh.
Two policemen including the
driver of the vehicle also got injured in the accident. All the three injured
were taken to the hospital where the pedestrian succumbed to the sustained injuries.
Today morning, the CM has asked
for an FIR to be lodged against the driver. "It is very unfortunate, we
have asked for an FIR to be lodged against the driver in this case. The driver
and a policeman have also got injured. The exact cause of the accident will be
known only after an investigation. We have given Rs five lakhs to the family of
the deceased. We will take care that such incidents do not happen in the
future," said the CM.
